Have your skills rewarded at Recognition Media
For 30 years, The Webby Awards has recognized the best of the internet. We’re building a new product that turns that history into verified, professional recognition for the people behind the work. We’ve tested the value proposition and messaging, and beta versions of the product with users, and demand is strong. We’re taking it out of private beta and into public launch this fall, and this role owns getting it into the world.
We’re hiring a fractional senior product marketing lead to take this new product to market. This is a part-time, high-leverage role: you’ll help create the narrative, build the launch plan, write the campaigns, and run point on execution, working directly with executive leadership and product management.
You could be a great fit if you’ve owned end-to-end product launches, have experience marketing to creative and marketing professionals, and you’re comfortable working in a lean, fast-moving team.
Key Responsibilities
– Partner with product and executive leadership to craft the adoption strategy, own comms channel strategy across the funnel (email, social, PR, etc.), and define and track adoption metrics, reporting on progress on a regular cadence
– Develop and own the launch plan and timeline from start date through public launch and initial adoption phases
– Push on and sharpen the value proposition and core messaging across every audience segment the product serves
– Work with the product manager to identify and synthesize initial user feedback as the launch rolls out, feeding those learnings back into messaging, campaign sequencing, and future roadmap planning
– Direct the production of launch assets – landing page copy, activation-flow copy, email sequences, social copy, press materials, FAQ – and own and optimize the claim/activation funnel end to end
– Support go-to-market for new product and monetization features as they roll out, partnering with product and business stakeholders on messaging and timing
– Coordinate and collaborate with product management throughout the engagement on user feedback, product strategy, and feature iteration; coordinate with the central marketing team on brand and channel standards; brief and manage any outside agencies or freelance support as needed
Desired Qualifications
– 6–8+ years in product marketing, with at least one 0-to-1 or major-feature launch owned end-to-end, positioning through execution
– Lifecycle/activation campaign experience (claim flows, onboarding funnels) is a strong plus
– Strong, self-sufficient writing – you can produce launch-ready email, landing page, and social copy without heavy creative support
Engagement structure
– Type: Fractional contract, up to 20 hours/week, August 15 — late December 2026 (~5 months), with possibility of extension
– Peak weeks (initial launch, ~late September; wider launch, ~late October/November): execution overflow is supplemented by internal team members or freelance support. This role stays focused on strategy, positioning, messaging, and the adoption feedback loop, not on absorbing full production load solo
– Location: Remote; hybrid NYC optional (1–2 days/week), not required
– Team: Working directly with executive leadership and product management
– Compensation: $40,000–$50,000 total contract value, commensurate with experience and qualifications
